Need help regarding notice period
I submitted my resignation two months ago, with a notice period of three months. However, my new company agreed to buy out one month. Earlier this month, I was feeling anxious about moving out of my comfort zone, so I negotiated with my current company to stay. We verbally agreed that I would continue.
However, after two weeks, things were not going as expected, and I informed them of my decision to leave as originally planned, at the end of this month. My resignation was never officially withdrawn; nothing was documented in writing. It was only a verbal discussion.
Now, the company is asking me to serve an additional two months of notice. What should I do? I am supposed to join the new company at the start of next month.

Legally, you are not bound by any verbal agreement. You can quit on the written agreed last working day and join the original company as initially agreed. Send an email to your current company HR about your decision, marking your personal email in copy. This will help you keep documentation for proof. In the worst case, you could negotiate for paying them the one month amount which the new company is giving you, but keep this as the last option.

The mail just says atleast 2 months regarding the notice period. No last working day officially mentioned in the mail. How fucked am I?

Calculate 2 months from your initial date of notice and consider it as your last working day. You can mention the same in your mail to HR and ask them to acknowledge/confirm.
