Need help on opening a Restaurant 🙏

So it's regarding I want to open a small restaurant where I can make - Mostly all the snacks like Burger, Pizza, Sandwich at low cost but with similar or better taste than Burger King and any other dominating restro. Also I can make different type of tasty shakes as well either it could be oreo shake, banana shake, mango shake and you can add on better than the market which generally offer this ... I am not over- confident but surely I can do better here as I love cooking and even I can make full prep meal But as of now I am not moving there just want to stick with these quick breakfast, snacks and shakes. So should I open a restaurant a small one by renting a shop or should I first go with cloud kitchen. But for cloud kitchen I don't know how to proceed ? Anyone can help ?

On that note, I wanted to know of we can go for a small outlet for fancy desserts. I am talking about very small outlets/kiosks that doesn’t require much maintenance and human resources. Since desserts are getting very popular amongst the Genz population …I am thinking of creating my own brand

Sure, as of now it’s just a thought. I am also exploring some options other than franchising…

I did this during Covid and made some decent money, but this was mostly because of a couple of factors: lots of restaurants were still figuring out delivery logistics, in my city Swiggy wasn't available yet so people were also more open to ordering from "home kitchens" (ironic). Once things opened up again, sales were very slow, and I didn't have the motivation to actually push due to my job as well.

What ive learned though (and from friends in the business) restaurants can take very long to reach profitability. Probably one of the hardest businesses to be in. I would suggest starting a cloud kitchen, limited menu, limited orders, limited time window, and see how it goes.

I don't know what the current process to registering a cloud kitchen is, I'm sure if you go the legal route you'd need to get an fssai license which is a pain in itself. If you don't go the legal route, you just need to hope that no one gets sick with your food and report you.

Is there a particular reason why you are not interested in franchising?
