
Need help on fluidity plan
My SDM asked for names of 2 senior people from my team to add in a fluidity plan and release them in the near future. Does this mean those people are going to be fired ? They are good associates with strong domain knowledge.

Put your manager's name in the list and the Deliver manager's as well and let them have a taste of their own medicine

So finally what happened to those people you added to the list now that it is 2 months since that was done.

I had to release them to RMG but after 3 weeks, with proper business case and justification and isu head approval, we got them back in team.

But a lot of that depends on the direct managers right! They must be lucky to have you and such line managers. Such managers are need of the hour.
By the way, is the activity over now or is fluidity list still there!

Now it begs a question. Many people are commenting that c4, c5 c3b may not have technical skills. Isn't it true that most of the people in these grades would have started their Career as developers in some technology and must have grown with the company. As their responsibilities grew they would have transitioned to manage the project Technically and Functionally. When will they get time to upskill if most of their time would have gone in proposals, resolving project issues, resource issues etc. Now people are very easily commenting pm or dm are useless. Not all are useless. Upskilling means what. Is it like we learn whatever Technology that comes in the market. Then when will someone become expert if we meddle in all Technologies available in market. Then same people will comment that those people upskilled but don't have expertise. Companies also will ask for expertise in a Technology. How is it humanely possible to learn everything available under the shade.

Fluidity policy in hr portal says people should be moved around projects. With new bench policy and layoff announcement , it's very confusing on what will happen to them.

It is almost a death sentence. Ideally it should have been they deployed in other project. Nowadays there is almost no project opening. Some unique technical position is still there. But nothing for managers, scrum masters , testers or functional roles.
They will get laid off. This is so bad.

Are there roles for database administrator/architect?

I heard from one of my friend who work inKochi. He got oppertunity as PM with his network, while recruiter ( a lady) place him through RMG location based team put a pressure to place another person. Probably a bootlicker of location leaderships. If you want to survive as pm dm etc, u need to.learn how smartly lick the ass of powerful person. How many pm dm have professional project manager certification in TCS? How many of them speak with a matrix? I. Tcs c3a c4 c5 project manager work with art than science
