Trending @Accenture; Need Guidance on Job Switch

Hello Everyone,

I am currently working as a Windows server administrator and Virtualization engineer. And, I have developed skills in Azure Devops, Terraform, docker and k8s, ansible, powershell and bash scripting. I have created some projects as well. I am trying to apply for Job postings as devops Engineer, everything looks fine but the must requirement requirement is to be a linux server admin. I have hands on experience and have intermediate knowledge. But How can I justify it in my resume. Someone could guide me here pls

It's all about cracking the interview with confidence, atleast you have intermediate knowledge. I have seen people who don't have any knowledge still claim they do and get the job.

No worries just add it in your resume, if asked make up a story you did this work by helping other team who didn't had Linux knowledge. Just come up with one scenario where you helped the team a real life use case and if asked answer accordingly. That's it, good luck 🤞🏻

Thank you for your reply. And another query is that I am asking for referrals and are also getting it. I applied for one of the roles where Linux is a must and my resume didn't have it. Now if there will be any openings in the same org. can I apply by adding Linux in experience. Will it be an issue. As I am seeing in almost every job they are preferring linux admins

Yes you can, if asked say I learned it and executed the same with the above example it's fine. And do learn it, it's not rocket science. Hope this helps
