Need guidance

One of my friend is a BBA graduate, so in short he is a non-tech graduate and he was aspiring to get into IT field and from some people he got to know about testing, so he learnt about testing and then he started applying to many companies but nobody replied back and one day he asked me for referral to which I accepted, I referred him in the company where I am working but unfortunately he couldn't clear the interview as mostly it was more focused on automation testing and being a non-tech guy it was little difficult for him to learn but still he is good in that. So now he is confused, he is jobless and one of his cousin suggested to go for IT Support job which is not that complicated like testing job, so is it fine if he go for IT support job, can anyone please guide me ?
