Need guidance..

Hi, I'm posting here to solicit some inputs on how to take next steps. I'm completing 10 yrs (all in tcs) by this year end. All along, I was predominantly in functional testing (front end, api, batch jobs, database, SQL). Also played lead role for a short span. I want to switch outside as my pay is stagnant. I'm not technically sound enough & now for this yoe, the expectations in market, are also huge. I don't know how to navigate through this.

Anyone in similar state can share what path they chose & how that worked. Thanks !

P.S. Pls don't pass harsh comments for my long stay here, as I'm already feeling low.

Upskill is the only way out, sounds bitter but it is the only option. I was in the similar situation with 13 YOE and recently joined TCS after spending reasonable amount upskilling myself. Not only boosts your confidence but prepares you for come what may in this evolving market.

Prior joining TCS was leading team of Desktop support techs who were supporting 1700+ users(mainly developers) for Microsoft products . Initially I though it was upgrade to be in a lead role. But slowly started to realize that people management is not for me and I was getting fuzzy on my technical front. So started learning again. Achieved a reasonably good certification in Azure AI and now back working as solution architect in TCS.

Suggest you to stay at TCS and do some kind of business for secondary income

I can feel you. People are lucky if they get to work on latest technical trends and are also paid well. As suggested by @JumpyTub6....upksill yourself. As per you current skill or market demand check out certifications and do it. Once you are ready you can try to move to a project which is as per you skill or try looking for a job outside.
