Need career advice: Should I resign first or wait till I get an offer?

Hey everyone, I’m currently working at an MNC in India and have completed 4.6 years here (even received my gratuity). I’ve been thinking of switching jobs, but I don’t have any offer in hand right now.

The issue is, my notice period is 90 days, which makes things tricky — most companies hesitate when they hear that.

So, I’m confused — should I:

  1. Resign now and use the 90-day notice period to apply and interview aggressively, or

  2. Wait until I get an offer first (which might be harder due to the long notice period)?

Would love to hear what others in similar situations did and what worked for you.

How did you receive gratuity of you completed below 5 years ? We need to complete 5 years to receive gratuity right?

Now a days situation is in most of the cases company are not ready to wait for 90 days. So we can't wait for offer and then put the resignation. We need to take calculative risk by putting paper without offer and in worst case if we can't get offer then we can withdraw resignation.
