Need career advice!

I am A data scientist by profession, enjoy problem solving building and thinking solutions that can have business impact, I think i am good at understanding any problem and devising solutions, start of career had a bad start in a good place because not good with politics but enjoy work when everything is clear and transparent and excel at it, Good with identifying gaps and ideating but bad with strategic communication ( politics to fight for self and given bad start been on backfoot for quite a while ) Love RiL, RecSys kind of problems natural inclined towards causal and Explainability been okay with coding .. understood Banking and Risk industry But given the sourness and not able to find the sweet spot where i know i can excel and all the politics.. have been thinking to switch to tech ML research but dont have CS background. Confused about next step. Any suggestions. TIA!
