Need career advice

I'm currently working in ICICI Bank as an affluent relationship manager (DM2) for 6 months now, having a CTC of 6.8 lpa. I'm a bcom graduate from a tier 2 college. I'm planning to resign in April '25 and the notice period is 1 month. When should I start applying for new jobs if I'm gonna finish serving my notice period in May. And what kind of jobs can I look for having experience in the banking sector. My current role is associated with sales which I dislike the most about my role. So I'm looking for a role in operations and finance. I'm okay with working in non banking sector as well. What should be my expectations for my next role? How much hike can I expect? Should I try going for higher studies instead of a job change? Or should I prepare for any competitive exams?

Bhai sabse pehli baat, logo ko call karke pareshan mat karo aap log. Kuch toh civics sense rehna chahiye aapki company me.

You can start Applying from now itself, it gives you enough real world preparation even if you are rejected. You can choose to resign if you get good offers before may. You can try in securities and investments domain.

Start applying 2-3 months before your notice period ends (Feb-April). With banking experience, consider roles in operations, finance, or business analysis in non-banking sectors. You can expect a 20-30% hike depending on your skills and market demand. Higher studies or competitive exams are viable if long-term career goals align.

If you are serious about switiching role in and operations and finance , take any certiied course or upskilling course with placement assistance so that it will help you on getting an idea, or else try to approach your manager if there is possibility to switch within you own org. Notice period 30 days which is accepable for many interviews....prepare will and all the best!
