Need advise....

I currently don’t have any work in my project as the client ramped down on 31st December. With the help of my friends, I arranged another project and was supposed to join from 1st January. However, my current project is not releasing me despite there being no work. Instead, they are increasing my allocation, which is creating issues for my transition.
