Trending @Infosys; Need advice to switch from SAP!!

I am an SAP ABAP Developer for past 2.9 years but I feel that ABAP is unnecessarily overly complicated. I tried my best to learn and be good at it but unfortunately i feel the open source tech stacks are much better and simpler…I might be wrong but that’s just how I feel.

So coming to my problem…I have recently joined Infosys as an sap ABAP developer but I want to switch my career path to web development by learning JavaScript, nodejs, reactjs and so on but I am not able to find enough time to practice for web development while continuing my job because my manager has put me into 2 different trainings simultaneously moreover there’s a lot of work pressure. I am really confused as to what to do!! These training sessions feel useless to me and a waste of my time!! Should I resign and prepare for web development in the 3 months that i get as notice period!? But that would be taking a big risk as I am new to this web development and my family is financially dependent on me. Should I take a sabbatical from work for a month !? Or can I ask my manager to release me from this project and utilise the time while I’ll be on bench !?

But every day at work feels suffocating as I have to learn what I don’t wanna pursue and because of that I am unable to find time for what I actually wanna do. I have no idea what to do so if anyone can suggest something it’d be really helpful!!

Dont leave the job as your family is dependent on you. Make time to learn new skill. Start small and learn. You can do it while on job. I have done the same. I daily wake up early morning Nd study
