Need advice to fix my laziness

Hello grapeviners.

I am 30(M). I have been working remotely for the past 5 years.

My lifestyle is sedentary and I don't like going out that much. Due to this I have become extremely lazy and I can see a drop in my energy levels.

Even if I had to go out for a small task it takes a lot of energy and mental burden to finally make up my mind to go out.

I also want to start going to the gym. But every time I plan to do so I tend to procrastinate and end up now going.

I want to fix this desperately. I need some suggestions from you all.

Go to gym and make friends, gymming with friends is never boring.

I don’t think so, I am 25 and I have friends in gym with age 30-32, try once talking to other folks who are also gymming alone.

44 M, fully remote, joined CrossFit during Covid. I love everything about it and it changed my outlook of life. Workout are kick ass. But I have energy all day. Get an full body checkup done and see if you have vitamin d deficiency. Deficiency in D causes borderline depression. Solve it by going crazy on gym and diet along with sun exposure

Thanks. I will get that checked.

How did you build the consistency of gym?

GoofyPotato

I got it checked. Vitamin D is very low 6ng/mL.

B12 is in range.

Set a really small goal first- if you start with a goal of going to the gym everyday, it’s not going to work.
Something that you actually can manage- let’s say your goal is you don’t order your groceries on instamart- you go down to buy your veggies, whatever. Start there- make it a 15 minute walk.
Then ideally do like a 15 minutes workout 3 times a week, then move up. You get the drift. Start REALLY small- commit to it, level up. Also if you want to attempt running try the C25k app. Brilliant

The formula that may help most of us, is to start the day by saying "No". And continue that for just the first hour of the day.

And trust me it works like magic.

Saying "No" to all things that we know are not productive. Say no to using mobile for the first hour Say no to lying down or sitting anywhere for the first one hour of the day Say no to fa**ing for the first hour

And just do 3,4 things get up,brush, bath, drink water and go out, run, meditate and come back.

You will start feeling energetic and productive for rest of the day, you won't feel like doing any of the above lazy things that you said no to in first hour. Keep doing this daily without break.

What is fa**ing?

Fasting? Farting?

If not married.

Get a GF who is always on her toes and loves to walk/ is physically active.

Your motivation levels will spike 😉

Please get your Vitamin B12 and D3 checked, might not be 100% your fault; the laziness.

Once I got to the optimal levels of B12 and D3, I started feeling much much better.

Cheers

Thanks for sharing. But the thing is I cannot sit idle. If I have nothing to do I will end up doomscrolling. I know this is bad and I am trying to fix this. Recently I have started reading physical books.

I just came to Bangalore to join some sports groups. I was facing the same and I came to Bangalore now I play Badminton 2-3 times per week. A good start for me

You shifted to Bangalore because of work or to get rid of your laziness? I am fine with shifting to a different place but it will be big step

DizzyPancake

I had worked from home since past 4 years and towards the end developed similar laziness and even started facing mental health issues due to isolation as very few friends stayed in my hometown. Took the big step and moved to Bangalore. Felt much better and enthusiastic and even recently switched my job and landed a good hike. People glorify WFH a lot, they don't tell about the bad part. May be it is good for married people/ very outgoing people, but in your youth days, you should be out in the world exploring new things.

Resign from your job and then see how active you will become to fix your life. ;)

Not an advice I would follow.

In my view you should get you vitamin levels checked, you must be now low on vit d, vit b. That is cause of low energy levels. And if you don't fix this z things will go downstream
