Need Advice: MBA in India or MiM Abroad (France)?
Hey everyone, I’m stuck in a major career decision and need some honest opinions.
I’m an Indian engineer working in an MNC with about 1 year of IT experience. I’m planning a transition into management/finance roles, and now I’m confused between two paths:
Option 1: MBA in India
Well-known ecosystem
Easier on the budget
Placements are structured
But: competition is crazy, CET/CAT prep + 90-day notice period makes timing tough, and I’m not sure if Indian MBA will give me the exposure/shift I want.
Option 2: MiM Abroad (Mainly France – ESSEC/EDHEC/ESCP/others)
Strong global recognition in management
CEMS/Grande Ecole ecosystem
Better exposure + internships in Europe
But: expensive (I have around 6 lakh savings), visa/job market in Europe is uncertain, and it’s a big leap.
My Situation:
I want to move into finance/management in the long term. Not very strong in coding. Prefer studying in France/Netherlands/Germany. Can’t prepare for CET + abroad applications at the same time. Unsure if I should wait till 2027 or push for 2026.
If you were in my position, what would you do? MBA in India or MiM in France? What are the real pros/cons from your experience?
Would love to hear thoughts from people who’ve studied abroad or done MBA here. Any feedback helps!
