Need advice for company switch
Hi all, I am an ABAP developer and joined this company in August 2024. I got a project in April 2025, which is related to SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration. I want to switch now, mainly because I feel trapped and see no growth. I have never even created a report, and I don’t really understand how things work. I know only basic ABAP code. Whenever I ask a senior about how things work or other topics out of curiosity, they make me feel stupid. All the other team members are far more experienced in SAP, and they expect me to have the same level of knowledge in just six months. My manager always targets me and never tries to understand my point of view. No KT was provided when we were onboarded to the project. Can someone please suggest if it’s the right decision to switch and how I should prepare?

Yes.. It's good for you to switch or maybe ask for a different project if possible. Btw how many yrs of experience do you have?

This is my first company
So I just have 6 months of experience in this project. The rest of the time I was on bench

Oh.. If this is your first company wait for another yr to switch.. Companies don't usually hire 1yr experience as far as I know
Meanwhile in this one yr you can learn ABAP online (YouTube , linkedin etc) and since you have a server.. Keep on practicing by creating demo reports, oop abap , module pool programming, cds.. Etc...
Don't be in a rush to learn everything, it'll take time.. I understand that you were given proper training and that is a major concern.. But you can learn on your own!
Good luck!
