Need advice at crucial stage - Are support roles good ?

I am from Non-technical background and have mostly worked in operations (Market research domain) except for previous project for 2 years where I worked as strategy and insight- Analyst. As I wanted to move to technical side, I accepted role of Microstrategy developer two months back (as this is IT account) and went through various videos on my own to learn. However, I have been informed that role is not materialised just before my onboarding and I will be released on bench in 14 days. I have been asked to connect with one manager of same IT account for role of L2 Support in PL/SQL. What should i do now? Should I consider support role so that i can be in IT project as I am not sure i will get IT project or not once i go to bench. I have heard that in support role we get time for learning other things. OR... shall I prepare for Power BI developer skill in this 14 days and look for Power Bi role after moving to bench ?
