Need advice | New joinee

I am about to join tcs on 2nd September and have received an offer from an early age startup the team is excellent but the pay is horrible, I discussed this with my father and he prefers stability and the good name of tata. The thing that I am most scared of is the 3 month notice period which will hinder me from joining companies i will apply to in future. I do not plan to stay in tcs for more than a year in any case. Please suggest what should I do. Is tcs really worth it and I and most of my friends believe I can certainly do better as I am well versed in DSA and Dev. I am just scared.

Do you have any other offer in hands? What is your highest qualification and from which institute? Are you a prime or digital candidate?

@WiseBear , I have 13+ years of experience. So i am telling from experience in this company. Join startup even if salary is less you gain lots of knowledge plus you can use that knowledge in other companies also.

TCS is good and the brand is good . But the scope of getting a good project and scope of implementing the knowledge gained is slim which aligns with your interests

Join TCS. Stability and Tata's name outweigh startup risks. Notice period is a small price for a solid resume. You can always jump ship later. Don't overthink.

Totally agree with purpleswing.tell your dad you can't join tcs once you leave .if you can extend the joining them try for other jobs.Tcs at this point is a lot of s***show with unnecessary policy changes. Also Tata brand is only for outside world ,it does not apply to TCSers

I have different advice. You can join TCS and get the stability early in life. Even if you join TCS there is nothing which can stop you from learning and upskilling. On the contrary, you will get plenty of resources to learn by TCS itself. Later when it becomes to monotonous then you can have some adventure by either joining a start up or creating a start up of your own.
