I recently joined TCS at the Sahyadri Park office and stay in a PG in the Marunji area.
A few days ago, while returning to my PG from the office, I witnessed an accident (I was walking). I tried to help the injured person and even offered him water. However, instead of responding calmly, he started abusing me and even slapped me. In self-defense, I pushed him now realize was a mistake.
Since then, that person followed me to my PG, and the next day he returned with friends trying to find me. My PG owner spoke to them and asked them to leave. But over the past few days, these individuals have been showing up near the TCS office, seemingly looking for me again.
I live hundreds of kilometers away from my home, and I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m feeling scared and unsafe. I want to report this, but I’m worried that even if I go to the police, it might not help, and those people could retaliate further if they find out I approached the authorities.
I am requesting guidance and support from anyone who can help. I just want to stay safe and continue my work peacefully.
Calm down. TRY TO DE-ESCALATE . Say sorry even if it's not your fault.. Don't wear anything fancy(like expensive watch) for next couple of days.. Don't carry any documents like adhaar or voter card with you for next couple days..
Worst case they will try to slap you or extort more money from you.. Maybe snatch your phone but that's okay.. disable biometric authentication from ph or banking apps.. you have to face it head on & try to reason with it.. say you are doing a call center job if they ask..
It's highly probable that you are overthinking and it will subdue in next couple of days.. You will be alright.. let someone from your family know about this situation..
Try to take help from a local politician... This will work...
