- The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) will be inaugurated in June, as announced by Gautam Adani, chairman of Adani Group.
- The airport will start operations a month or so after the inauguration, initially handling domestic flights before expanding to international ones.
- The Union aviation ministry recently reviewed progress at NMIA, noting that more work is needed on the terminal side and taxiways.
- Originally planned to handle one crore passengers annually, NMIA will now open with a terminal capable of handling two crore passengers annually.
- Domestic operations are expected to begin in the second half of May, with international operations commencing by the end of July.
