I think you're confusing actors with people of other professions who actually sometimes. I mean Vir Das is a stand up comedian who does films once in blue moon. As a comedian he is top rated but no one considers him to be anything close to a top rated actor. It will be like calling Sonu Nigam an actor as well. Also same with Nargis Fakhri, no one considers them to be top actors and no one is hyping them up.

Salman khan, SRK (romance role etc he is great in but i never felt his acting to be genuine as in likes of character actors), all women actors of current times(except vidya balan, konkana sen, tabu)
