My view about India and Indians

I honestly don’t feel connected to India anymore. Every time I look around, I feel disappointed with how things are — the people, the system, the environment, everything. And yeah, maybe this will sound harsh, but it’s how I really feel.

When I look back at our history, it’s painful. We’ve been invaded or ruled by almost everyone — Aryans, Scythians, Huns, Arabs, Turks, Mughals, Portuguese, French, British — the list just goes on. Sometimes it feels like that long history of being dominated has shaped our collective mindset even today. I still see a sort of dependency — a need for Western validation — in how we work, think, and behave.

Take our industries, for example. The IT and service sectors are almost completely driven by Western clients. It feels like we’re building other people’s dreams instead of our own. And socially too, we try so hard to look and act “Western” — the way we dress, speak, or even judge success. Somewhere deep down, it feels like we still see ourselves as less than them, like we need their approval to feel valuable.

What frustrates me the most is how low our social trust is. People rarely help each other genuinely. Instead, there’s constant jealousy, competition, and backbiting. That “crab mentality” — pulling others down instead of supporting them — is real. You can even see it in the faces of people when someone else is doing better.

Our politicians and bureaucrats aren’t any different. The corruption, the lack of accountability — it’s just a reflection of what society itself has become. It’s like our leadership mirrors the flaws we see every day in ordinary interactions.

Honestly, I feel like as a society we haven’t achieved enough. We’re still carrying the same weaknesses that existed for centuries — dependency, lack of trust, lack of unity, and no real sense of collective pride.

Even the physical environment adds to that feeling sometimes — the heat, the chaos, the pollution — everything feels heavy and uninspiring.

I know some of what I’m saying might sound extreme, and maybe I’m being too negative, but this is just how I see things. It’s not hate, it’s frustration. I wish we could break free from these patterns, rebuild some self-respect, and stop depending so much on others for identity and validation.

Buddy we can't change the world. Better change the place where you are living maybe go to any other country. In India if someone is really good, people don't appreciate it instead they take advantage but this is something which we can't control. Don't frustrate do something which you can change from your side.
