My Thyroid journey.
To all the women out there, it is high time we take care of our health. I had thyroid from a very early age, the values of TSH(Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) always fluctuated. Normal range is 0.3-5.0(depends on different labs). The highest value that I got until now was ~8, which was usually controlled by the medication. But in the last few months, this value got increased to 15(which is very high). The day I got my test results, I was absolutely scared and nervous about how to lower it down, as I was already consuming a high dose, which did not affect even a bit. My menstrual cycle was affected. It got delayed by a month and when I got it, it came with a lots of side effects (heavy bleeding and pain). I consulted a doctor, where he increased the dosage, which was quite high. He asked me to consume it for 2 months and get tested again.
Today, I got myself tested again, and the TSH value came down to 1.9
My only lesson in the last few months is, eating healthy and exercising. I wrote this post for women especially because, we have a very complex body especially our hormones which keeps changing after every certain age. And women who have Thyroid (it's a cherry on top) have the hardest time in reducing weight. I am one of them. No matter what I try, healthy diets and exercise, it's very hard to lose weight when the TSH is high.
Last few months I have worked really hard on myself just to reduce my TSH value, which was almost a nightmare for me.
So to everyone, please keep a check on what you eat. Walk as much as you can. Exercise at least 4 times a week. I have gone through a lot in the last few months, I almost gave up on eating junk foods, even if I had, I had in a very small quantity.
I hope this post inspires you to be on a healthier side, and I also hope to continue my healthy journey. ✨
