My team doesn't want me to perform
So apparently I’m a top performer. Management says it. My numbers say it. Even my burnout says it. But when promotions dropped? Surprise! 🎉 People whose KPIs need Google Maps to find the target got promoted. Meanwhile me? Still here. Still delivering. Still “very valuable to the team” (which I’ve learned is corporate for “please don’t quit yet”). At this point I’m confused: Am I an employee or an asset that shouldn’t be moved? Is this a job or an unofficial long-term situationship? I give results, they give “we’ll revisit next cycle” Is pyaar ko kya naam du, Reddit? Because this relationship has: commitment from my side excuses from theirs and zero clarity about the future Do I: A) work harder B) stop caring C) update my resume D) all of the above Asking for a top performer friend (it’s me).
