My Surgical residency

I am pursuing my surgical residency at one the premier Institue in southern part of India(I come from northern state) Got here after studying for one and half year in isolation sacrificing everything and clearing NEET and scoring rank with in 99 percentile When I came down since first day I got the heat How me coming from a certain part of the country frames guidelines and rules If I have to take a planned leave I am supposed to arrange an alternative to cover my responsibilities (even when there are enough post graduates to do the job ) I am made to take blame for everything that is wrong in the institute itself be it if the lacking is from the office clerk, or lacking has come from the other colleague who is a southerner If few people collectively have defaulted to finish a job I am somehow to get the heat alone I was warned a week before Diwali to not take leave on Diwali specifically. I shared with one of my consultant that I want to go home visit my mom and check upon her health- was ridiculed saying my visit is not gonna heal her anyways why take leave for this reason. This in contrast to colleagues from southern state taking months on leave or week long leaves without second questions. People here discriminate on Operation theatre time as well.
