My supervisor keeps on calling me and pinging me even after office hourse. Considering type of work we are doing, it's not at all required. Any type of discussion can wait till next morning.
I don't respond to after office hour calls or pings, and everytime this happens, next day is havoc and full of drama. Sometimes, I felt like crying.
My supervisor expects me to behave in same fashion with my team. My team is performing well and I don't want to push them unnecessarily.
I feel this is toxicity, how do I deal with this ?
P.S: We both are of same gender.

Set up a 1-on-1 meeting Agenda to discuss team communication
Ask them point blank if there's anything wrong in the work your team is doing, or time issues in deliverables
Set up and share your idea of an escalation level based on impact of the issue
Mention ppl will leave if unrealistic load is put on them
This is not sustainable, and managers usually aren't able to change, so keep looking out internally and move out.

Super bad thing is we have different work styles. Rather we have terrific generation gap. Me being Genz and manager about to retire ! Just can't handle manager's temperament with work. And even if work is done and they see you available, then we load with tonnes of other things:(

Bro, don't give him he a shit
Ignore him after office hours

Old bastards have nothing better to do than make life difficult without reason. Just let them retire, have patience until then. No other option really.
This is not a morally correct solution - but tell him that you have some one in your family who is very ill and that you have to take care of them after work hours.

Sorry for typo *
