My retired father spends nearly 6 hours a day on the mobile phone, need suggestions on how to keep them engaged in other healthy activities.

I believe many of you might be facing this challenge due to this digital era. For those who have retired parents/elders at home, what activities or routines have you found helpful in keeping them active, socially connected, and mentally engaged without relying too much on the phone?

Indulge in certain activities. Ask/take them out to meet with old friends/relatives etc... Keep ur kids with them if you have. Ask them to read holy books Take them to the park and make activities like yoga, gym, meditation, walking, and small games. Talk more openly and maturely with them. Show more interest love and care. Play board games with them. Ask them if they like any trips ?
Tell your/their college/ office things to talk with them.

Same. Smartphones have become like drugs, acts same for kids as well as for retired senior citizens. Also, it is ironic how those senior citizens would initially preach so much against these mobile phones’ dangers, but once they learn it and get hooked to it somehow (mostly youtube shorts/videos), they themselves become addicted and the forget the whole world watching those never-ending videos, which are mostly of either religious kinds, or jingoist kind….
