My mnthly gross sal 227k & in hand is 174k after pf & tax. I have a total of 15 yoe in psu. Is this gud if compared to avg sal in IT.

Here is short story -

I have 3 very close friends who have close to 15 yoe.

1. My previous manager - for similar exp, he is getting close to 1.25cr per year including RSUs.
2. My current TL - 14 yoe & getting close to 1.2cr including bonuses.
3. My sutta buddy - 14 yoe & earning bit more than you (2L per month).

Almost similar exp & you can guess who is more chill & happy with his life.

If you answer is no 3 then you are correct.

My previous manager is not happy with his current salary as his college friends are in USA earning more and his current work load is too much.

My TL is happy with salary but always worry about project complexity as he has to help all who work under same project & he get very less time to do his own job so family time is very less.

My sutta friend is very chill, less salary so less work. Less complexity tasks. Family is happy with his current work life balance. (BTW, I earn more than this guy with 8 yoe) And management is also happy as he don't complain about his salary hike.

Now back to you - compared to IT, your salary somewhat less but based on work life balance, you decide where are you in life.
