This is not a “you" only issue imo, what your manager thinks about you is also dependent on his intrinsic nature. If he is some1 who overlooks everything and just lets things work as is. He will definitely feel this way if you detail out a few things. But if a lot of other people as well say the same then it is an issue.

Also Don't take your corporate colleagues opinion bcs most people don't wish to put in much effort at work and want to just do the bare minimum. So if you detail things out in DSMs or 1-1 they will not like it.

Try to read the room and if people don't listen what's the benefit of even detailing things. Just say the bare minimum and let them be happy.
