It's generally not safe place.. but you can manage there are lot of TCS associates in Mexico. Check about salary.. Your tell him that you going abroad leaving family to earn money so if money is not good then you won't go and also you need to speak to someone already in Mexico on the safety

I took a project due to onsite Mexico opportunity. They made me work night shift because of Mexico hours. Then project got over before they sent me. No onsite and a shitty sleep cycle to show for it.
