During the interview process, interviewers not only provide feedback but also enter their assessment of the candidate’s perceived months of experience (MAL). The final interviewer has the opportunity to review or update this number based on their own evaluation.

For example, in your case, if your MAL shows as 25 months after just 7 months in the role, it likely means the final interviewer entered a perceived MAL of 18 months. This perceived experience can support your manager in building a stronger case for your promotion when you become eligible.

I was given 64 credits of MAL when I joined 3.5 years back, now my MAL is 100+. Yet no promotion, irrespective of great client feedback, appreciation mails, great PL feedback. So I can confirm there is no point of MAL in promotion.

Accenture turned into a rogue organisation in the past 3 years. Already dropped the paper.
