My boss just told me that they are planning to automate my work, am I going to be laid off soon?😶

I had a 1 on 1 with my manager yesterday where he was supposed to share his feedback with me and I was expected to give him updates on the overall work.

The meeting started normally and we exchanged updates and feedback, but soon after he told me that I need not worry about small bottlenecks which I am facing, as the management is planning to implement AI and automate my workflow to improve efficiency.

I was so shocked to hear this, I mean its a good thing for the company as it will improve the efficiency, but what about me?

What work will I do then? Are they going to lay me off? Should I start finding new jobs? Or will they transfer me into some other department,

God this is so scary..
