How's life in your city ?
Was just curious how is life , traffic, work life , shared public spaces etc at your city ?
Do you enjoy it there considering we became the most populated nation ?
Let me highlight some points. This city is not for beginners.
Tbh this is a city where people are to themselves and unwelcoming.
You won't be entertained in an already established group in the society where you are staying
If you are a drinker/smoker/meat eater than you have a fair chance as atleast there would be such get togethers
You will spend your entire time alone with no deep bonds.
People won't even take any efforts to know you.
The saying:Man is a social animal is a complete miserable failure in this city
Hard disagree. Amid all the chaos Mumbai folks are really nice. They just don’t have time to sit, relax and talk.
Most helpful folks. Mind their own business and doesn’t interfere in yours.
What you wrote about isolation is true for every major city.
Completely disagree with you and heartily agree to OP. Mumbai is a miserable city. The people are disgusting with absolutely zero basic covic sense, mannerism or decency. Not a single person knows how to walk on the road, how to drive/ride, how to use footpath and for what, how to behave. Period. Justifying fake urgency and 'time nahi hai' doesn't simply make any sense. It's just a city which doesn't deserve to be celebrated as much as it is being. If one takes bollywood bubble out, 80% of its glam/charm will be gone in a jiffy.
+1 to @Aragorn_urf_Maverick Mumbai has better people than any large city in India, in my personal experience
Wow, quite disagree with you Having lived for several years across Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore - Mumbai has always stood out in terms of how much better the people are in welcoming you, helping you out, and being open to talk to
Interesting how different your experience has been
Looks like u are staying in a gujju locality
It is not only with MUMBAI or DELHI or KOLKATA or CHENNAI or BANGALORE..
It is probably EVERYWHERE and also at the same time NO WHERE..
I myself have stayed in 3 cities outside my hometown.. Nothing with feel like home unless there are elderly living there.. Trust me the vibe & quality of life of a locality can be determined by the number of elderly vs bachelors living.. 🙃
Every city on the earth is the same. Be your own companion. Find love. Peace 💕
This is soo true! I can't forget my 6 recent 6 months there. Hated every single day!
I'm talking about youngsters like us only. Infact senior citizens are more welcoming.
Nothing new men, same everywhere, learn to survive alone

People have this weird notion that Delhi/Gurgaon isn't safe and that the folks here are as warm as an ice cube in Antarctica. Can you believe that? This narrative has been doing the rounds for so long that it's starting to affect the mig...

I was scrolling through reels and heard someone saying this ..
"Cities are impersonal"
I understand the psyche of the person. Even I stay in Mumbai. Haven't we ourselves made cities impersonal. If cities end up like villages , why ...
