Multiple A bands within a team
Can a manager give A band to more than one person in a team(4-8members)?

Yes i have given to 3 members from my team of 14. The ask from DP was 25-50-20-5 for A,B,C and D band for each grade. I gave A to 2 C1 and 1 C3A and it got processed. Please note that both DP and HR have the ability to reject manager's suggestion and do their own fitment at the unit level.

Can you tell me what is DP and what is its role?

DP is the Delivery Partner for the practice. DP will have multiple accounts under him/her generally from the same stream. Example: All accounts which are related to Energy, Automotive, Chemical, Pharma can be under different DP each. Now say under Pharma there are 5 projects then there will be 1 DP responsible to make sure the Delivery Managers from each of these accounts are running the project smoothly, there are no delivery issues, resourcing issues etc, financials are on track, no delays from Customers in payment etc. The DP are also responsible for growth of their stream so they will interact with multiple other customers showcasing TCS strength and then trying to win projects. DPs are measured solely on the growth they bring in the area either expanding the current projects or adding new projects to the portfolio.
Then you also have DP from the ISU side who are who are constantly in touch with the customer Manager and generally ISU DP will handle multiple projects with the same customer in different application technologies.
There role is not limited and keeps changing as per demand in the project as well as at practice level.

Yes. Manager should sensible and knowledgeable enough to do that.

Ideally not possible. But it can depend on the size of the team.

Yes our whole team got A total 8 person

Depends on unit and account budget for setting the curve and percentage of A band rationalisations per grade within the team . Often , a column called priority exists in the rationalisation sheet where if you mark the same band for two associates , you have to put 1 or 2 in priority so that if there is budgeting for only one of the associate to get a particular band at account level , priority 1 is selected over others ( this might vary from account to account ).

I think it depends on the budget right? If 2 As are there some B band eligible associates might get to a C

Yes ofcourse

Band distribution or curve fitting is done at unit level. Multiple A in a team is very much possible. I helped two of my appraises get A in a 11 member team.

No, actually managers are given a budget and they have to fit every team member in bell curve based on that budget, so if you see performance appraisal bell curve not all members in the team can be marked as high performer.

Not only C.. any of the team members will get D band also
