Mtech vs Job

I'm having around 3 yrs of experience in Insurance Development using a particular tool.My CTC is around 8.2Lpa rn.Should I go for offline Mtech in Machine Learning from IIIT-Allahabad as I have valid gate score. My only purpose of doing mtech is higher CTC because growth at current company seems slow as ,I'll be able to reach around 11 lpa in next three years🥲 if I will not be able to switch in my current tech stack.

Also I'm learning Dsa -solved Strivers sheet ard 400 questions,Web Dev -Mern stack on my own to switch to SDE positions but competing in open market that to having no related experience seems very tough. Please Suggest what will be right. Thankyou

If your only purpose for doing MTech is getting a higher package then don't go for it and keep trying to switch.

However I would suggest that if your financial and personal situation allows you to do MTech then go for it and don't think much about the money factor now.

The reason is you are young with less responsibilities right now, with time your age & responsibilities are going to increase only.

So later you might not be able to spare time for a masters program, especially for an off-line one.

Hence think from this perspective as well and then take the decision.

Wishing you the best!

Mtech wouldnt offer you a great return on investment.

Unless you fall in the top 0.1%, its of absolutely no utility.

Rather keep upskilling and in 2 yrs you would be making 3x of what you otherwise would with mtech.

Feel free to debate.

@StanleyHudson I agree no one knows future ,but that 0.1% chnce can be significant in career I suppose bz else I'm seeing so slow growth Ofcourse it's a dilemma for me 🥲
