Moved to Bench but Expected to work for project.
Heyy.
Around 30 people were removed from project sometime ago, then added back and now removed again.
Our manager also resigned in February, then all. This started.
So I was removed from billable project (Devs from service based company can understand).
Yet I am expected to work on project, daily work assignment and progress update and calls.
When I ask Manager even senior director replied to my mail, 'You are very much with this project, we are working on getting everyone back into project.'
The thing is, new people are joining project.
So why would they remove old one and hire new.
Project is near completion also, there is new like 80% team will be let go by August.
My question is, shall I work or just stop working and prep for switch.

No, I didn't resign. They removed 30 people from project, saying they have some budget issues.
They said keep working, even when we are officially in bench. ( HR will ask to resign after 2 month on bench, It's been a month already).
