Most bizarre lie you've heard at work?

Had a guy in my team last year who sent us a downloaded google image of a smashed laptop. Said a tempo ran over his bag while he was crossing the road and that's why he couldn't log in for our weekend deployment.

The absolute best part is he forgot to crop out the stock photo watermark at the bottom right corner. When our manager confronted him on Monday he actually doubled down. He looked us dead in the eye and said the police took the photo for the FIR and added the watermark for copyright. Like bhai at least put some effort into the scam. I literally had to leave the meeting room because I was going to burst out laughing.

Just say you have a family emergency or stomach bug... nobody is going to ask for proof for a two day leave. It just makes me wonder what other wild stuff HRs and managers have to hear on a daily basis. What's the craziest one you guys have seen?
