More recession proof role?
7+ years of exp in business/data analytics, 2 years of in-depth exp in performance marketing. Which trajectory should I choose to be more recession proof?
I would put Product marketing as one of the roles that is not recession proof at all

I don't think any role is recession proof. It depends on the company & industry.
Layoff doesn't happens based on experience or role. Companies basically cancel side projects etc and all engineers , analyst etc involved in them get laid off
Sales & Client dealing role generally are less impacted in layoff as they bring in the revenue. But again those aren't well paid.
So all I have learnt is to remain skilled so if layoff happens you can find next job soon
Btw , how much are you earning with 7+yr experience in analytics?
There's no such thing as a recession proof role when push comes to shove.
Data analytics professional be getting fired left and right along with product guys.
