More inadequate housing being commissioned

It was already established that 1 lakh is not enough to build an entire home. Not only did they not increase the amount, they even commissioned more homes at the same prices.

Considering how anywhere between 10-20% of it is lost to corruption at various levels, this is just making more of the same mistakes again and again expecting things to change.

Anyone who has been keeping track of construction and real estate will know material and labour costs have inflated annually between 10-30% for the last 2 years. So this money will actually be able to do even less than what was possible before. Result will be very low quality housing that will need fixing again soon enough.

Do you want more taxes?
the folks who are eligible for these benefits anyway don't pay taxes

I don't pay much in tax either lol #founderlife

My point is, instead of big flashy numbers they could just build a few houses well, instead of doing more half baked houses. The money required wouldn't change.

The last one didn't even care to do this much. That's why in spite of all the reservation haata denge propaganda they didn't manage to breach 100

Incompetent government

I think this is implemented by using a combination of both state and central schemes. In Kerala, I’ve seen some small yet beautiful houses, built under a budget of 10L , state govt provided some 4-5L

Even 4-5L is decent but 1 lakh is not at all sufficient

I think its direct to account so no chances of corruption but its peanuts

It is supposed to be direct to account, but the approval comes from local govt Babu who won't give approval without bribe. Same for the swacch Bharat toilet money that was distributed. Same for many other govt subsidies and schemes.
