It is an investment.

  • It will increase tourism
  • People will buy more smart phones to take selfies, boot to economy
  • some parts of the statue are made in India, and it will increase the GDP
  • It will decrease the delay in trains
  • It provides shade and protects from harmful UV rays

There are numerous other benefits too, but haters will only see the short term expenditure, not long term benefits
