Mixed feelings after meet with new friend!

As I am at Chennai in weekend after 4 yrs instead of at home, since online food delivery companies ask for double charge, yes double charge compared to actual rates at restaurant, today I went out for getting dinner by 6 PM(That's usual dinner time at my home) ! Unfortunately none of the hotel was having my usual menu available Idly with Meat curr by then !

After a long roaming, finally found a message(became 7 PM by then). Met a friend from Tripura, aged 23, completed SSLC with literally ZERO UNDERSTANDING ON ENGLISH, 10% Tamil, 25% Hindi, 100% Bengali earning 26K in hand after 2k deductions from original 28K salary with free accommodation and free food on working days, working as Lead for kitchen maintenance at Novotel, Siruseri! He sends minimum 20k/month to his home reserving minimal cash in his account, living very minimalist life! Jealous to hear this 😱

I hope 23 years aged and graduated associates working in TCS with technical skills along with English communication skills could barely able to send 10k to home !

When will TCS understand it pays lower than non technical labour or when will graduates understand not to join TCS with lower package than non technical labours ? Angry to realise this ! 😡

He has sister studying 11th, getting married next yr(obviously before 18), a brother studying 6th standard and he came to Chennai at 2020 and never visited back to home. Will visit for her sister's marriage next yr. Parents are no more. Emotional & supportive for him to hear this ! 😭

He faced bad incident at JJ Nagar around 10 PM few months ago, guys from Thoothukudi threatened him asking money by showing knives! He told many are good people in Chennai at the same time it's not safe roaming after 9 in Chennai. Feeling awkward to hear this 🤥

He also told it's very pity on people in Tamilnadu are not getting married at right time. Many men are not getting even after 23, some even after 25, unfortunately even after 27, earning more than 1 sovereign gold! 🥺
