Missing quality content in Grapevine (vs 1.5 years back)

When I came to grapevine 1.5 years back the quality of content was so engaging and thoughtful. There were a few people who used to give in depth takes, it almost felt like an Indian HackerNews.

I recently came back to GV after 6 months break and I feel it has nothing to offer apart from salary discussion, offer discussion, IAchievedFIRE etc. There are few OG folks still commenting but there's no way to follow them (like Twitter).

People are trying to extract value from GV, but I feel value addition (in terms of knowledge, opiniom contribution) is not happening.

Looking forward to see thought by other folks, am I doing something wrong in not following right things?

Every social media goes through this phase. As @Micheal_Scott said earlier that they don’t want to make it like Reddit and focus more on professional-work related stuff. Some of the communities got renamed or deleted due to less traction.

Recently, WAU reached around 100k-150k, but most of them are just lurkers. When it comes to value creation, it depends on the user, if the post lacks quantity content then mostly commenters will stay away and that post will be ignored.

Few OG folks posting-commenting but nobody can predict for how long, sometimes just life happens and they will be busy with some other stuff or just decides to take a break from GV.

Anonymity of the profile seems to be good for now, GV might release follow feature eventually, but it will be at the cost of privacy-anonymity.

R1 AI Interviews seems promising, it would be interesting to see how things evolve.
