Any news of laying off today?

It's official. And in words of Satya (new version of Satya Nadella in 2023, if I may say - Satya 2.0), "it's Showtime"
"overall reduction of workforce by 10,000 through Q3 2023" when read in conjunction with "continued hiring in strategic areas" means the actual number of layoffs will be much larger (to result in net 10,000 in 9 months!). $1.2 Billion earmarked for severance is savage. Satya 2.0 woke up today and chose violence.
Anyone impacted by the layoff?
So finally we are seeing 1st of its kind event AI making real people jobless . Or at least investment in AI rendering thousands jobless
Not really these layoffs have nothing to do with AI. Also Microsoft had a cash reserve of $107 billion till last quarter. They are not really in any cash crunch as such. All Tech companies over-hired last year , now that the economy is slowing down they are re-calibrating the head count.
It seems so. Out on a lot of major media outlets including verge and likewise. 10k jobs in engineering is really really frightening considering how much cash are they sitting on.
It's not just engineering
Actually 11K, including Engineering teams
Does anyone know which employees are targeted? Freshers or experienced employees?
