Hi guys,

Today I got demand email from Income tax department. My ITR got processed today. i can see there is a mismatch in the TDS actually deducted vs TDS shown in the email. I remember many folks faced this issue last month. Can you give me some info what is required to be done from our end. I am expecting a refund of 80k but as per current email I need to pay 15k

Kindly submit your disagreement response on ITR website and wait for it. I did the same and got my refund if 15100 + interest of a week back.

Can you please mention the exact step that would be really helpful. Because this issue has happened only to TCs resources. There is very little information on Google about what needs to be done and how it needs to be done

I had the same issue . IT department missed the tax paid on 4th quarter last year. So instead of getting 15k refund I was asked to pay 60K . I replied to tax demand in IT returns portal.There will one section named Response to Outstanding demand in IT returns portal . I submitted my reply a month back and got my refund last week.

My credential is with CA, how can I not ask him and reset and access the portal?

Thanks guys, even I got a demand today of 1.4L 😧 .. So I just need to reply to them via portal . Can any one of you give the exact steps. That would be helpful.

This is what I have done. I suggest you guys to check every detail properly and not blindly repeat my steps.

1.Go to IT website
2.Pending action
3. Response to outstanding Demand 4. Click on submit response
5. Select option as others. 6. Mention the details, form 26as TDS is x and same has been paid and mentioned in the form 26as. But IT filing has TDS mentioned as Y . This is due to the TDS of last quarter not added to total TDS. 7. Sumit the response.

I was supposed to get 21 k return,but I got a tax demand of 54k..but if I compare columns I can see I have paid exactly same amount of tax in form 16.…I am not understanding what to do ..I am in old regime

Check the TDS shown in the demand is not matching with the TDS mentioned in the form 26as, you can also check the salary slip of March 2024. If the TDS shown there matches with TDS mentioned in the ITR email.

I was suppose to get 13k refund but only got 1500 because TCS paid the tax in april 2024 and they were suppose to do it before march 2024 and my CA told me that I’ll get the extra amount in next year filing.

Is this information correct can someone tell me if they facing same issue?
