So, my account ODC is in TCS-Kolkata. I wasn't following working from office as my work was something that I could've easily done from home itself and I believe I am no exception as it is same for many associates as well. But, I understand this phacked up , policy is here so we have to maintain WFO compliance.
My home is around 40 kms away from office and it takes around 2-2.5 hrs to reach there amidst the Metro works and traffic jams around Park-Circus ( An area full of miscreants ! ). Because of which after completing my morning meeting, I leave around 10:30 am and I come around 1-1:30 pm in my ODC ( Non-UK Shift days ) .
My new manager says that even though he is a jolly and helpful guy but still he says that I don't know but you have to be available online in VDI even you are travelling via bus which is jam packed by people ! I mean seriously ? So much effort only to get paid in trinkets ?! And what does that make me ? People seeing me in bus thinking, woah A future entrepreneur in live action everyday in a public transport ?! Damn !
I am not sure about your pay , if you think it justifying then you can try hitting their goals or else just do how much ever you are getting paid
If you were that important it would reflect in your bank account if you ask me
So even they are behaving as if world will fall apart if you are not in office or working
Trust me it won't so maybe try digesting this fact and act accordingly

Ask him to pay for extra hours then ...
