MBA or Startup

I am a Finance professional with over 4 years work ex. Currently, I am working in a Dubai based firm with majority experience at JPMorgan Chase, India.

I have an idea for a startup in the healthcare space and I want to work on that. However, I have no past Entrepreneurship experience. I am considering an MBA from universities abroad.

I am not sure if I should go for the MBA or start working on this venture right away.

There are a few factors confusing me:

  1. An MBA will increase my credibility as a founder, especially if I do it from a good school.
  2. These courses and universities often have their own Incubation Centres and Seed Funds which could help me start.
  3. MBA can help me build a network that can be potentially beneficial.
  4. MBA will require both time and money, both valuable resources that can be saved and spent on the venture.
  5. I can get the same coursework and knowledge without the Degree
  6. Values of these degrees are decreasing gradually from what I can gauge.

My dilemma is which path should I pursue at this moment that can maximise the probability of success and lower opportunity cost as much as possible.
