MBA for PM Career Advancement

I was having a discussion with a friend having opposite views, hence wanted to take the GV community's opinion.

For someone who's already a Product Manager and a top tier-1 undergraduate with 2-3 yrs experience, is a top tier MBA required now or later for:

  1. Getting faster promotions
  2. Getting easier shortlists
  3. Entry to higher management roles

This post is specific to PM jobs and later to a CXO level position.

MBA is required for faster promotions
MBA is required for resume shortlists
MBA is required for senior roles
MBA isn't required if you're already PM
