Masterstroke by Management !!
The recent layoff announcements at TC$ appear to be a strategic move. The narrative has completely shifted from employee demands for flexible WFO, transparent variable pays, promotions and appraisals to a singular focus on job security. This fear-based approach, which leverages the threat of unemployment, is a highly effective way to manage a disgruntled workforce without addressing their core concerns. It's a textbook example of crisis management to deflect from internal issues and it was expected from this kind of poor management executives who wanted to save themselves at any cost.

This action has multiple consequences
- TCS is no more a RETIREMENT COMPANY
- TCSers realized working for low salaries for doesn’t guarantee Job security
- It’s employee base is not company strength, skills are more important than Employee numbers

It was never a retirement company, I don't know know why people live in this delusion.

Anyone who is thinking any private company is a retirement company that is a dream only.Every private company runs for profit. So whenever they feel less profit they will find a way a increase profit.

This might be looking as a short term master stroke but it will have ripple effects in future like: Now most of the people in TCS whosoever are well skilled will be looking for new opportunities outside more rigorously. Talented experienced people would not be interested to join TCS, as TCS is having corrupt salary structure, they are having their own cut out of associates salary. And now job security is no where in TCS, in finance its a well known line, high risk high gain or low risk low gain, but high risk low gain inmen not a viable investment.
I can see TCS is going through KODAK moment, cutting associates salary or head count can never be a solution, TCS should come out by focusing more on R&D, IPs and also they should be deploying some policies of making their employees as entrepreneur, with TCS investing on great ideas.

I see lot of people here saying this will backfire company, not good for long term etc. Nothing will happen to the company, company will think about its profits and you need to think about yourself, company is not going to think for you. Stop being a emotional fool.

Bro...it will have more negative impact. People will leave and no one will join them .

can be its a master stroke but just in time . but the mahor impact is tcs will loose its skilled reasurces. because this layoff and no job security fear will force skill resources to leave the company. basically what employee wants bonus, increment, promotion, job security if nothing is there the no worth of sustain in company.

TCS will have to pay heavier price near future. Once market stabilize, most of Skilled working forces will be switching . Rather than firing steps TCS CEO should come up with different approach. This is totally tampering Brand value, client trust etc etc. You need to understand you are not produced based company, yours action should have many ripple affect because u r heading service industry.

Exactly they are diverting employees from asking basic faults or poor management issues. These poor top Cs management or strategy will not work long and there is no surprise of these C levels changed in next 1-2 years.

So true
