masters in USA

Hi,

I am currently working as an software developer (5+ years experience)with around 40LPA CTC.

Most of the people in my circle have gone there 2-3 years back.

Now I am having a fear of missing out, I applied for a few universities and I have got an admit in MS in CS.

Is it worth it to migrate to another country and start again at this point of my career? What is your opinion on work in USA compared to India?

Need some experienced folks with honest answers please.

I’ve lived there before hence my thoughts on Working in the US:

Pros:

  • Better WLB
  • More pay
  • Better quality of love
  • set life for family and kids

Cons:

  • Limited growth compared to India
  • You miss out on your friends, family and life in India
  • you may never have a huge impact like you potentially could have in India
  • the luxuries of great food and services in India is missing in the US

In same boat as you. Most of my batchamtes have shifted to EU or states.

I think at this stage, you should ask, do you want to experience new culture, new way of living, explore. If that sounds like yes, then you should definitely move to usa.

Given that you’re a dev, with a good background, you’re going to do well, no matter the geo.

How did you earn so much. What should I learn.
