Marketing folks of GV, what would have been the thought process behind this?

Indians ain't buying $20/mo subscription for AI search, even the target demographic doesn't fit. Why spend marketing dollars to create controversy among a community that doesn't fit your TAM?

There’s no controversy, even Virat would agree that Sachin is 🐐

Does not matter tho.. they'd have been better off running ads around superbowl
They'd get traction from this, but not more subscriptions

You got to try man otherwise what’s the point? Also this was just a new feature they launched for Twitter. I think it’s valid and solid. Regular Tom dick Harry Indians won’t buy but people building something will surely think about it. Hell I considered perplexity and recommended this to my AI/ML lead when we were working on a feature for our Product.

Some stupid guys write something just to create a furore, to get some publicity, this looks like that, reflects bad on that perplex thing actually, that it needs this kind of cheap tricks

The thing about marketing is to get as many eye balls as they can and the fact we are discussing this means, it serve its intended purpose. Anyways it’s a nice feature if you actually use it

There’s a lot of negativity growing around Arvind. People are calling him stupid, saying he does anything just for marketing, and even calling Perplexity just a wrapper. Some of his actions are harming the brand more than bringing in subscribers.
