Managing Emotions When Your Friend's Salary Skyrockets and Yours Doesn’t
I’m struggling with feelings of inadequacy and frustration. A year ago, my friend and I both started our careers with 8 LPA packages. Recently, she secured a 28 LPA package, while I’m still at 8 LPA. I feel happy for his success, but I can’t help feeling left behind and questioning my own progress.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? How did you cope with these feelings and stay motivated? Any advice on navigating this phase would be greatly appreciated.

Experienced it at every point in life... Lol.
In College during placements, one guy got left out. Somehow he could land any job. To show 100% placement, one of the prof. Called his friend and had him placed in a company. For every low salary. I saw him go onsite to new zealand, and settle down there. He is now a permanent resident in Australia.
In my last company I stayed for 10 years. During the time every person who joined along with me. Got promoted twice or left the company and went to different role and made it to sr. Position. I was again left out.
Some how no matter what I do and whichever path I take it always leads to a shit pit.

Crack two offers back to back — use one to bump the other. You will reach same / similar levels sooner than you think.

Till few years back yes, felt that way many times.
Off late I have realized there would always be someone better than me, no matter what position or salary I reach.
So changed my focus to earn as much as I can or I need to fulfill my needs and materialistic desires.
This thought process didn't change in a day or two but overtime.

Damn.. i am jealous of you bro. I have 5 YOE as Product manager. Still at 8 LPA.
I hope this made u happy. P.s. now i have taken 1 year gap, so i am expecting to start again at lower price. Nope, i am not motivated, just wanna.. this world to end. Lol.

It do be like that sometimes. I feel like taking a break too, life's too hectic sometimes

Don't work as a product manager. If you work as a manager at lower salary, every other job would give you salary based on previous. Work as an individual contributor and reach a certain level, at least 25lakh, at least, and then switch to managing

3 idiots moment

I landed in amazon because of the same reason and managed to secure more LPA than my friend. But he's quite happy with the work while I'm not. Now I understand that it is more important than LPA to have peace of mind.

There are so many people who are earning more than you (having the same YOE) We feel jealous only when our close ones secure more CTC

Broh!
Do t be jealous about your Friends Success.
Just get motivated with that. you need to surround yourself with successful people.eventually you will also become one.
Don't look in a Jealous perspective of others success. You should be happy that your friend is getting that not anybody else.
