Manager's assurance of Anonymity

Manager, VP , Director says whatever is told to them will not leave the room and nobody else will know it.

Do you think will they reveal things to the accused person or not . Especially if the complainant has issues with a specific team / person highrer than them.

They will reveal. This is just eyewash stuff
They can be trusted to keep it confidential
Wanna see the results, bruh !!!!

Many moons ago I worked at a small startup where there was good camaraderie between me and the founder/CEO, and that was why I was sticking with the company because my manager was a loser. I despised him. He was proper deadbeat freeloader and only goodness knows what he did all day.

One day, out of huge frustration, I confided in the founder that I am not liking stuff and my manager is the issue somewhat. It was like a massive load of my chest and I was really happy. I felt understood, valued and at that moment I could have probably taken a bullet for my CEO.

But about an hour later I was called to the conference room. There were three people sitting on the opposite side- the founder, the cofounder and my god damn MANAGER. Turns out the founder, being the founder cared about his company more than the feelings of a young brat and he got us face to face in front of him to get to the root of the problem. He wasn't his usual jolly self and was dead serious to get a positive conclusion.

I wanted to kill myself at that moment, after killing the other two bastards given the amount of embarrassment. My manager straight up asked me in front of the CEO "Maine kab tujhe....... ". And I was acting like a monkey making up any shit of to get out of there ASAP. Eventually my CEO sermonized a little, my manager added some closing remarks, and I was given the cue to scoot, like the money that I was.

I was 24, hardworking, passionate but very fragile. That moment broke me. Afterwards, I went home, ate a little, and passed out.

Next day everything was status quo but I made some resolutions at the subconscious level that I stick with to this day. Wanna guess what those resolutions are?

Regarding a manager taking full solo credit for the work done by his reportees without acknowledging their effort.

Depends on a lot of factors. Such as the integrity of the person, how close that person is to whoever is being accused of something etc.

Assuming the best, they might not reveal per say but they might ask questions to the accused. This generally makes it easy for the accused to figure out what happened. If he has trouble with just one person, it becomes very easy for him to pin point who accused him.
